Salute to All: Being Far Away from Home

Being away from one's loved ones is such an extra ordinary ordeal. There are various types of people who are on this category. We have those who are serving their countries by becoming members of their armed forces and at times they are sent abroad for a mission. Some are members of missionary groups who hop from one country to the other to share good news to others especially to those who are not that fortunate in their lives.

There is also that group of people who seek for greener pasture so they sacrifice their time and resources so as to realise their positive dreams for their families.  I give my salute to all these kind of people. For those who are working abroad, the anxiety, pain, stress, discomfort of being far away from the significant people in one's life are imminent.

Thus it is always a relief when both parties spend time to communicate with each other in so doing updates and whereabouts of each one can be relayed. Although the returns could also be greater in forms of material benefits and financial security but both parties are expected to give sacrifices and exert effort to sustain the positive side of the relationship.

Each day passes so abruptly and without knowing it, one could only realise that he/she has been away for such a long period of time and that multitude changes are happening to those who are left at home especially with the children. As it is said, there is no greater love that a person can offer to his/her loved ones except by offering positive values and a secured tomorrow.

Anyway, how do you cope with the challenge of being far away from your family, relatives and other significant persons in your life?

Anybody willing and interested to go to USA? Here are some facts regarding the methods to enter USA. Just like most of the countries that anybody would like to visit, United States as well requires visas from Filipino citizens who are planning to enter the country. Some of those useful links that will help anybody interested to go to United States are:

Visa Types for Immigrants

Immigrant Visa for a Spouse of a U.S. Citizen (IR1 or CR1)

Some points to consider are the following:
1. For any aged 20 or below who wants to enter USA, he/should be accompanied by one parent during the interview. In some cases wherein both parents are dead or living abroad, the applicant should be accompanied by a guardian.
2. For any non immigrant who is applying for a visa, here are some points to consider:
- With regard  to the payment of this application, applicants must pay the non-refundable and non-transferable application fee. As of June 4, 2010, the payments are as follows: US$140-B1/B2, C1/D, F, J,
                       : US150$H,L,O,P,Q and R (Temporary Worker)
                       :US$350- K (Fiancee)
                       :US$390- E(Investor/Trader)

When paying for any of these fees, any applicant must bring his/her passport since this will used when paying in a bank. And after 4 hours after payment, this will be activated. However, for any online payment, this will be activated on a longer time (24 hours).

With regard to the ways to make any payment: payment can be made on any Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch, pay through online bill payment option provided by BPI for their customers and through online payment c/o Bancnet) . Additional pertinent information- any payment made is valid for 1 year. Any interview related to the payment must be done within a one-year validity period.

However, for any applicant ready to have an interview, do prepare all necessary related documents. Be reminded also that Nonimmigrant Visa does not accept documents before any interview (except in cases such as Treaty Trader (E1) and Treaty Investor (E2). Do remember also that whatever documents that one has submiited will not be returned and will be destroyed except for one's passport.

Perhaps, it is also good to throw some of these questions in your mind before your actual settling in United States:

1. If you have an international license, is it valid in your chosen States and for how long that it is valid before you will have you onw license?
2. What is the best option for you when it comes to one's private insurance option? Or are you entitled to such benefit as Medicard?
3. What is the process of renting a house and what are the needed documents to do one?
4. How could a new arrival open a bank account? What are the required documents to acquire one?

Good luck for any application. Just be patient with all the process especially in the gathering of data and in the follow up stages. Moreover, be sure that all pertinent papers are provided.

CANADA  is such a beautiful country. Way back year 2001, I had the chance of visiting the country especially in cities like Montreal and Ottawa. Being in those two famous cities I could not help but be amused and be delighted by their vibrant environment.

With this, I know that many of us are interested to know and to have information on how to secure a visa to visit the country. Here then are some informations that would help us plan any trip to the country.

3. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca...mande-vrt.aspx.....here is another website that can assist you in your application for Canada. One of this link's highlights is its offer of pertinent information on how to systematically apply for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa. Processes such as checking the processing times, ways how to apply, paying the processing fee etc. are but some of the important informations being shared here.

4. If you are planning to visit the country, try to allocate 2 months before you will submit your applications since the time of processing at times is affected by the demands that are faced by the staff who will perform the application process. So, having an allowance such as days for one's application will usher to a better and a peaceful disposition.

Thus I came up with this blog so as to share the experiendes of all those people who are working far away from their loved ones, in a foreign country where various hardships could be faced like cultural adjustments and the like.

This blog will also  feature important elements on working abroad matters thus allowing it to become an instrument for others to learn how to apply for necesssary documents, what are the processes involved in acquiring a visa, and many other items on working abroad.
