Adelaide: The Beauty That Is

Adelaide, the central city of South Australia, has been a subject of our holidays just a few days ago. I, together with my wife and two good friends, Erwin and Jozh, had the golden opportunity to stroll and discover the beauty of the city itself.

The first day was spent in visiting some good friends and we were ushered to a delightful evening with delicious food and casey wines. We all enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts, couple Sally and her chef husband, Bryan. The latter prepared everything and after the dinner, we saluted him for such a wonderful evening of food and wine.

The ensuing day was spent in visiting Barossa Valley Wineries. Along the road, you can already take a look on the vast fields planted with grapes, the main component of their famous wines. There are more or less 20 wineries in the area and due to their big number, our group was only able to visit two areas, Penfolds and Jacob Creeks Wineries. With all the exotic and unique brands of wines, we then had the rare chance of tasting some of those famous brands such as the wine of the month 2009 century hill Shiraz at 60$ each bottle.

Conquering the city- that was our theme on our last day. We had the opportunity to visit the famous Victoria Market with all its delicacies and varied shops composed of international products such as Western, Mediterranean, Asian and many more. We enjoyed much of the city's treasures like the famous Rumble Street displaying all those famous brands like Chanel, Prada, and the like.

While we were on our way back to Melbourne, each one of us treasured the wonderful moments we all experienced in Adelaide, the city of great wines and churches.
